GELOSO G-18-R AMPLIFIER

 

 

 

"This is a Geloso G-18-R. About 10 watts, circa late 30’s early 40’s. It would have been used as a kind of public address amplifier for maybe election campaigning or similar outdoor purposes, as it was only manufactured as a 12 volt car battery version.

 

I never had the base or cover with it. Also it would have been originally in 2 parts - the original 12 volt power supply would have been on a separate chassis. I never got this either so I cheated a bit with this one. With today's modern components being so much smaller, I simply made a power transformer for it, juggled things around a bit on the chassis, and made it into one unit - this time as a normal mains powered version too" - John.
