CHAMP ELECTRONICS -" THE VINTAGE VALVE AMP HOSPITAL"
NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND
REPAIR OF AN AMPEG VT-22 V4 AMPLIFIER HEAD

Shame about all the lettering having disappeared!

Coming in for the very simple job of the removal of the USA style "grounding switch & cap",
together with a general check-over and service......There isn't really that much to tell about this one.

Right-hand view of the boards.

Centre view of the boards. Some work has previously been done on this and the replaced components have been put on the top-side of the board.
(.........or underside, depending on which way you look at this). A typically lazy way of working!

Left-hand view of the boards. Some
pratt has put this vehicle-type in-line fuse holder....in series with the existing main fuse on the back of the amp and.......with a 25 amp fuse in it! What the f**k is the point of this? I did remove it of course.

The usual Ampeg side-mounting plates with rubber
cushioning.....for when the amp is inverted the right way up in its case of
course.

After
having given her a full service, checked and juggled the output tubes around a bit, she performed really
well....A nice sounding amp, even though it is PCB based!!
