SERVICING A JMI VOX AC50 AMPLIFIER HEAD

A few components blobbed-in here to get her back to life.

The original inspection tag. I believe this says: "First
Inspection"…..and the date of the "2nd November 19??", but the
rest is too smudged so we can't be sure here.

And obviously done by somebody called "Briggs".

All components fitted correctly now.

The Euro power connector (or "Kettle Socket"…..as
we call them here in the UK) has of course been fitted at some point and would
not have been original.

One big problem with this baby was that one of the pre-set
bias pots was going open circuit intermittently. I replaced both of these with
really top-quality pots.
AND NOW AN AC100......OF SORTS!

Brought to me by my good friend Howard from Leeds, UK, who was curious to see if I could get this thing back to some form of
life. This AC50 had been butchered into some kind of AC100! It was an absolute abortion and dreadful on the test-gear! As it
happens, whoever did this had gotten the phase-splitter completely wrong and it would have never worked the way it had been
done. That was of course until it had me around it.....soon sorted!

I just love the hand-wound 6.3 volt heater winding on the power transformer! Still....it does work.

After I had finished with it she was just about making the full power. Prior to this it was just a load of junk or "a heavy door stop!".
